Irs/ system enquiries
CDS was formed in February 2000 and has enjoyed
rapid growth developing a reputation for professionalism superior
service and quality.
An IRS system is the communal TV system that we recommend
to social landlords, because it offers choice and flexibility.
It is a cost-effective way to distribute digital TV to
lots of homes at once, and is the best solution to get
your flats ready for the digital switchover.
IRS gives people living in flats the full range of digital entertainment and
interactive services that people living in houses have - a choice of hundreds
of TV and radio channels and fantastic reception.
The Benefits of IRS It gives residents complete freedom to select the digital
TV supplier of their choice... including Sky+, Sky HD, and exclusive to Sky TV
customers, Sky Talk and Sky Broadband.

the entire block

digital switchover - and to listen to FM / DAB radio
It gives them the choice to sign up for Sky TV, Sky Talk and Sky Broadband without
having to get their own minidish

Sky HD
It allows them to opt for Freesat from Sky, or Freeview
It can carry non-English channels and CCTV monitoring
How Do You Get IRS In Your Block?
CDS is here to support social landlords as they get ready for the digital switchover.
We've set up a dedicated team to give you free information and advice.
After a brief conversation to discuss your needs, we can arrange for one of our
sales members to visit you and explain all the options, so that you and your
residents find a system that offers long-term reliability, better reception and
choice.
What Are My Digital TV Options?
A communal aerial system is the best way to ensure digital TV
entertainment, flexibility and choice for your residents after
the digital switchover.
By acting now you can negate the need for residents
to put up their own dishes, which can damage buildings and may
be against tenancy or lease agreements.
You can choose either to upgrade your existing
system or install a new one. There are two main types of system
to choose from:
A Master Antenna TV (MATV) system - An MATV system can carry
analogue terrestrial TV, digital terrestrial TV, FM radio and
DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting). But it can't carry satellite
signals so tenants won't be able to get Sky TV.
An Integrated Reception System (IRS)
An IRS gives tenants access to digital satellite
TV – such as Sky TV – as well as terrestrial TV,
and FM and DAB radio. They will also be able to watch analogue
TV until the digital switchover.
The latest types of IRS are easy to install
and use just one satellite dish, to which each flat has access.
